President Trump’s Approval Soars to Record High Amid Bold Crime Crackdown and Diplomatic Wins
President Donald Trump has hit a historic milestone, achieving a 55 percent approval rating—the highest of his presidency—according to an exclusive Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll. The survey shows just 45 percent disapproving, marking a significant surge in public support for the 47th president.
“This is the highest approval figure we’ve ever recorded for Donald Trump,” said James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, in an interview with the Daily Mail.
The poll, conducted from August 21 to September 1 among 867 registered voters, carries a 3.3 percent margin of error. It reflects a six-point jump from July’s poll, which had Trump at 49 percent approval.
The president’s rising popularity comes on the heels of his decisive August 11 executive order deploying federal troops to Washington, D.C., to tackle rampant crime. Despite some local protests, the move has paid off: violent crime in the capital has plummeted 39 percent compared to last year, with robberies down 57 percent and motor vehicle thefts down 35 percent, according to police data.
The U.S. economy grew at a robust 3.3 percent in the second quarter, surpassing expectations. Inflation held steady, consumer spending rose, and personal incomes increased. The stock market also hit new heights, with the S&P 500 setting five all-time records in August.
Unlike many leaders, Trump skipped a summer vacation, staying in Washington to focus on governance. His efforts extended to foreign policy, where he made significant strides toward brokering peace in Ukraine. After a high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders at the White House, showcasing his commitment to global stability.
These diplomatic victories have fueled Trump’s approval surge, giving him momentum as he prepares for a state visit to the United Kingdom on September 17.
Remarkably, Trump’s approval ratings have remained unscathed by baseless rumors about his health, spread by political opponents over Labor Day weekend. At 79 years old, Trump remains vigorous, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarifying in July that the president has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and benign condition causing mild leg swelling. His physician also noted minor bruising on his hand from frequent handshaking and aspirin use for cardiovascular health, dismissing any serious concerns.
With crime down, the economy thriving, and peace talks advancing, President Trump’s leadership is resonating with Americans as he continues to deliver results.
